"Why does the caged bird sing?"
“Why does the caged bird sing” is inspired by Maya Angelou’s autobiography book, but in this case, the bird is my homeland Armenia that keeps singing for her freedom from oppression and abuse no matter the bars that restrict her. I will do my best to feature this piece on as many platforms as possible to raise awareness among the musical community.

Transcendence in Turmoil: String Quartet No. 2" - Grigori Balasanyan
|
My composition "Transcendence in Turmoil" attempts to capture the emotional ups and downs I went through while living in America as my homeland Armenia went through a time of war and suffering. This string quartet is a musical exploration of the nuanced and powerful feelings that flooded my heart. It is a 3 movement piece for a string quartet depicting 3 different kinds of feelings: anxiety, sadness, and anger.
